The Tech Prep Academy is designed to help teachers answer two questions:
What is my role as a teacher/manager of a Tech Prep program?
What are the tools and resources that I need to be a successful teacher/manager of a Tech Prep program?
The academy will help teachers experience inquiry-based instructional strategies. Teachers completing this academy will:
Understand the vision for Tech Prep in the new Ohio Perkins
IV plan.
Learn how to access resources within the Blackboard on-line course format.
Effectively interpret College Tech Prep Career Field Content Standards documents effectively.
Access College Tech Prep curriculum materials on the College Tech Prep Curriculum Services Web site

Understand the new Programs of Study (POS) and impact on articulation agreements.
Gain hands-on exposure to instructional strategies to improve student achievement, including differentiated instruction, inquiry-based instruction and integrated instruction.
Design units of College Tech Prep instruction
for classrooms and labs.
Develop and implement a school-by-school Action Plan for
College Tech Prep .
Understand the non-instructional responsibilities of a successful College Tech Prep teacher/manager.
Teachers will leave the academy with:
A developed College Tech Prep unit of instruction
An Action Plan for the year
Skills using the College Tech Prep on-line course
Experience being part of a College Tech Prep Learning Community
