State of Ohio Standards
The Ohio College Tech Prep Advisory Council has
recommended state program standards to
supplement federal standards. In Ohio, College
Tech Prep programs require that:
-
College prep academic standards align with
content standards.
-
Algebra II content is completed before high school
graduation.
-
Senior year math is completed either as a stand alone course
or as part of the technical coursework.
-
Three units of
science with two lab-based science courses are completed in high school.
-
A
state-approved curriculum is used.
-
Articulation agreements exist for each program and biannual reviews are completed.
-
Programs involve common representation between
business, secondary and postsecondary education.
-
Programs operate as state-approved career
technical education.
-
The postsecondary level involves an advanced
skill model.
-
Programs comply with Ohio College Tech Prep
performance measures.
-
Integrated instruction is implemented where
possible.
