Program Standards
Program standards ensure the statewide consortia
share a unified vision and
strategy for College Tech Prep, so programs
are comparable in focus, scope and thrust. These
standards serve as a guideline and
checklist for evaluating program quality and
alignment with core priorities.
Ohio College Tech Prep programs are sustained by
the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Technical Education
Enhancement Act and state support for consortia
operations and enrollment expansion. This investment
includes standards that define Tech Prep programs as
seamless, non-duplicative programs of study that
combine high level academic and technical
preparation in a variety of career fields.
The Ohio
College Tech Prep Advisory Council has expanded
federal program standards to define
more completely Tech Prep programs, students and essential criteria.
