Commitment to Sequence Early
Career Exploration
-
Consortia work with partners to offer a range of
career exploration, interest and assessment
activities targeted to middle school students
and parents.
-
Ninth and 10th grade students are advised to
build academic fundamentals in math, language,
science and communications. Some students may
elect to take technology foundation and career
exploration courses.
-
Some College Tech Prep programs begin in grade 9
or 10. However, most students typically enter
College Tech Prep in grade 11 and pursue the
pathway through a two- or four-year college
degree. Students choose from a range of
technologies that emphasize experiential
learning and onsite
work/education opportunities.
-
Most College Tech Prep students continue their
education at a two- or four-year college or
pursue targeted technical certification or
apprenticeship programs.
