About
The Ohio Plan for
Career-Technical Education incorporates three
essentials requirements of the federal Carl D.
Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of
2006: higher expectations for all students;
strengthened connections between secondary,
post-secondary and business and improved state and
local accountability.
Ohio Perkins IV Plan Vision: Tech Prep
for All
The core of the Ohio Perkins’ Plan is a commitment
to provide ALL career tech students with access to
quality Tech Prep programming. Students will be
prepared for success in postsecondary education and
future careers that support workforce demands. Tech
Prep for All summarizes this vision and will be
accomplished by these action steps in Ohio,

All CTE secondary
programs will transition to Tech Prep standards
by 2014.
Programs of Study (POS)
will be the vehicle to build the
secondary-postsecondary pathway based on these
higher academic and technical standards

Student support
services will help all students reach higher
academic expectations.

student performance will be measured by exit
